This Saturday we have 2 elementary and 2 middle school teams going to the Robotics State Championships! We want to wish them the best of luck! Go Brave Bots! #LPSelma

Today we had over 27 community members come in and speak with students during our WHS Career Fair! Students were able to choose four different careers to rotate through and hear from people who are in those jobs daily. Thank you to the WHS Student Council and sponsors for organizing this day. A huge thank you to all of the community members who volunteered their time to share their careers with our students! #LPSelma

Tonight's SMS softball practice is cancelled, they will resume practices after Spring Break.

SMS Athletics Update -- No golf or baseball practice on Monday. Golf will practice Tues. & Wed. 6:00-7:30 at Cardinal Hills. Baseball will practice Wed. this week 5:30-7:30. Softball practices Tues. / Wed. 5:30-7:30. Track practices start Monday 3:00-4:30.

#LPSelma will be open and on time on Monday, March 18, 2024. The schools will be open because of the hard work that has been completed by more people than we can thank. Go Raiders!

It was really hard week in Selma but a great ending!Congratulations Mr. Luce, players, and the #LPSelma community.

Here is an update on the relief effort at Selma Elementary. We are overwhelmed with all of the generous donations at the school. We have moved most of the items to the Selma Global Methodist Church at this time. (That is the church located next to the little league diamonds in Selma.) Samaritan's Purse is setting up at the church and will be there to assist our community starting tomorrow, Sunday - 3/17/24. There are truckloads of food, paper products, diapers, toiletry items, pet food, clothes, blankets, and more that will be housed there. For those who need items, please reach out to the church. We do not need any further donations at this time. We especially do not need clothing or household items. If that changes, we'll communicate those specific needs as we get them. Thanks to all who have donated so far. Selma Elementary School has food this afternoon and more is coming this evening. We will also still feed volunteers and those affected from 12-4 tomorrow. There are several cases of water outside the school. We will be here until 8 p.m. tonight but if you need any water and we are not open, please stop by and pick up what you need. Thank you to everyone who is joining together at this challenging time to help others. The Selma community is a strong one for sure!

We appreciate all the volunteers working hard on behalf of our community. The parking lot is packed with people getting ready to listen to the Raiders play! Selma Elementary will be open to the local community 12-4 Sunday, March 17, 2024 to pass out supplies. Go Raiders!

Here is some updated information on the tornado response at Selma Elementary. Selma Elementary will be open this evening and food continues to be brought in for those helping in the area and for those who have been affected. Please come and let us serve you through our generous community donors. We have had several cases of water donated. We also have toiletry items available. Come and get those items if you were affected by the storms and take a case of water if you need it. The school will be open tomorrow - Saturday, 3/16/24 - beginning at 8:00 a.m. We are accepting food donations for tomorrow. There is no electricity at the school at this time so it’s difficult to keep food hot or cold so please keep that in mind if you are making a donation. Bringing items close to breakfast, lunch, or dinner times is very helpful. Breakfast foods and sandwiches are convenient for the volunteers to grab and go. We want to thank our amazing community for the outpouring of support we have received today. Thanks to everyone who has donated items and for those who are working so hard on the clean up efforts.

We are thankful for the outpouring of support for the Selma community. It is at times like this that we rally around to help each other. At this time, today’s meals have been covered for first responders working in the area. We do not need any further food donations right now but will keep everyone posted if that changes. There are currently no people sheltering at the school and our parking lot is being used as a staging ground for emergency personnel. We ask that you do not come to the school unless you need to drop something off or have an immediate need. If that is the case, Door 11 is open. Thank you again for all of the support.

#LPSelma will be closed on March 15, 2024 due to tornado damage in Selma. We will not have eLearning. Please be safe.
